OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

THIS CONTEST IS FOR LEGAL RESIDENTS OF CANADA ONLY AND WILL BE INTERPRETED AND SUBJECT TO ALL CANADIAN FEDERAL, PROVINCIAL, MUNICIPAL AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

ENTRY IN THE CONTESTS CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).

  • SPONSORS: The Unite the Swifties contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by (i) 14764200 Canada Center, 5681 Hutchison, Montreal QC H2V 4B5 (on behalf of Decolonial Solidarity); (ii) Stand.Earth, 5307 Victoria Drive, Suite 347, Vancouver BC V5P 3V6; and (iii) Change Course, 396 Victoria Street, London ON, N5Y 4A9 (the “Sponsors”). Not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Bluesky, or LinkedIn.
  • ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open to legal residents of Canada  who (i) reside in any province or territory within Canada; (ii) are fourteen (14) years of age or older as of the date of entering the Contest and who, if under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, have received the permission of a parent or guardian, who has agreed to be legally bound by these rules,  to enter the Contest and potentially become a winner of a prize; with the exception of employees of the Sponsors, their parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, departments or agencies, franchisees, suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, contest administrators, and any other parties engaged in the development, production or distribution of Contest materials and those living in the same household. By participating in this Contest, entrants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bound by, these Contest Rules.  Entrants who do not comply with any of the Contest Rules are subject to disqualification by the Sponsors, in the Sponsors’ sole discretion.
  • CONTEST DATES AND TIMES: The Contest begins June 3, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. ET and ends on October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest End Date”) after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries shall be accepted.
  • HOW TO ENTER: Participants can enter by filling out the form at https://unitetheswifties.ca and entering their complete contact information, including first and last name, telephone number, and e-mail address before the Contest End Date. Entrant information may be used for marketing purposes by the Sponsors. There will be multiple ways to increase odds of winning the Contest by earning additional entries, as described below. You may participate in any number of activities to earn additional entries. Entries will be assigned by the Sponsors, in their sole discretion. For this Contest receipt of an Internet entry occurs when Sponsors’ server records the entry information.  All entries must be complete and are subject to verification by the Sponsors, in their sole discretion.

Contest entries will be assigned according to the following structure.

  • 1 entry per person will be assigned by filling out the Contest entry form by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 1 entry per person will be assigned by signing Contest petition(s) by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 5 entries per person will be assigned by sending email(s) using the Contest emailing tool by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 5 entries per person will be assigned by filling out the participant survey by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 10 entries per person will be assigned by making phone call(s) using the Contest calling tool by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 15 entries per person will be assigned by submitting original video(s) to the Contest Soapboxx site  by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 5 entries per person will be assigned by sharing Soapboxx submission(s) to personal social media account(s) via Soapboxx sharing links by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 15 entries per person will be assigned by participating in coordinated social media activity and/or phone calls organized by the Contest by October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 50 entries per person will be assigned by completing each module of a training program organized by the Contest by July 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 75 entries per person will be assigned by submitting picture(s) of a piece of artwork or a sign made for the Contest on the Contest Soapboxx site by October 6, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 100 entries per person will be assigned by submitting picture(s) of Contest posters displayed on public noticeboards on the Contest Soapboxx site by October 6, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 150 entries per person will be assigned by collecting at least 5 signatures on a petition by the Contest using a unique QR code assigned by the Contest by October 6, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • 1000 entries per person will be assigned by hosting a Weekend of Action event organized by the Contest between October 11, 2024 at 12:01 a.m. ET and October 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

For greater certainty, no contestant may register for the Contest more than once regardless of the method of participation. Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed, or otherwise, illicit means to enter the Contest, or any other methods not authorized by these Contest Rules, for example, but not limited to, creating multiple accounts, identities, or registrations, all in the Sponsors’ sole discretion, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating and/or winning a prize.  Entries that contain false or incomplete information are void.  Entries that are late, lost, stolen, illegible, contain false information, are damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions of the Contest Rules are void.  Entrants grant the Sponsors a non-exclusive license to use all entries for any purpose.  No correspondence will be entered into except with selected entrants.  Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures, etc.) does not constitute proof of entry or receipt of an entry.

  • CONTEST PRIZES: There are a total of 2 prizes available to be won consisting of: (i) 2 tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour show in Toronto on November 15, 2024 (approximate retail value (APR) $300); and (ii) 2 tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour show in Vancouver on December 7, 2024 (approximate retail value (APR) $300).

All prizes are subject to availability, determined in the sole direction of the Sponsors.

All winners assume any and all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by entering, participating in this promotion or use or redemption of a prize.  Prizes must be accepted as awarded and have no cash value.  Prizes or any portion thereof cannot be combined with other discounts, promotions or special offers.  Sponsors reserve the right to substitute an alternate prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize is unavailable at time of award.

  •  ODDS OF WINNING: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received before the Contest End Date.
  • SKILL TESTING QUESTION: Selected Entrants will be required, as a condition to winning a prize, to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, the Sponsors’ time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question.
  • WINNER SELECTION AND CONFIRMATION: On October 14, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET at 5307 Victoria Drive, Suite 347, Vancouver BC V5P 3V6; (“Draw Date”) an employee, agent or other representative of the Sponsors, will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries and select the potential winner of 2 tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour show in Toronto on November 15, 2024; and select the potential winner of 2 tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour show in Vancouver on December 7, 2024 (the “Selected Entrants”). The Selected Entrants will be deemed a winner if they meet all of the eligibility criteria set out in these Contest Rules.

If a Selected Entrant does not meet the eligibility criteria, he/she/they will be disqualified and will not receive a prize and another entrant will be selected by way of a random draw from the remaining eligible entries.  Before being declared a winner, a Selected Entrant will be required to: (i) correctly answer the Sponsors’ skill-testing question; (ii) sign and return the Sponsors’ Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release form (“Winner Release”); and (iii) comply with all other Contest Rules, all in the sole discretion of Sponsors.

The Selected Entrants will be notified within one (1) business day of the draw and will be contacted by telephone and email provided at the time of entry into the Contest, in Sponsors’ sole discretion, and up to three attempts will be made within 36 hours following the draw.  A Selected Entrant that does not or cannot accept the Prize may be forfeited and a new Selected Entrant selected by random draw, in the Sponsors’ sole discretion.  The Sponsors’ signed Winner Release for the must be received by Sponsors no later than October 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET by email response. Sponsors are not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a Selected Entrant to receive notification or for the Sponsors to receive a Selected Entrant’s response.

  • DISPUTES REGARDING IDENTITY OF ENTRANT: If the identity of a Selected Entrant is disputed, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Account Holder (the individual assigned to the e-mail address or, if applicable for entry, social media handle associated with the entry).  Each Selected Entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she/they is/are the Authorized Account Holder associated with the selected entry. Notwithstanding any other provisions of these rules, the Sponsors reserves the right to determine how the presentation of the prize will occur.
  • VERIFICATION OF ENTRIES: The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to verify or require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsors) from any contestant in this Contest or for any Entries earned, or purportedly earned, by such contestant to be considered valid for the purposes of this Contest. Contestants whose entries cannot be verified to the satisfaction of Sponsors in their sole and absolute discretion may be disqualified from the Contest and will not be eligible to win any prize.
  • PRIZE DELIVERY: The Sponsors or their representatives will send the ticket(s) to the confirmed Prize winner’s email address through a Ticketmaster Transfer. It is the responsibility of the winner to provide their email address to the Sponsors and the Sponsors hold no responsibility or liability for an incorrect email address provided by the winners.
  • TERMINATION:  The Sponsors reserve the right to terminate or amend this Contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice.  Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned for any reason, the Sponsors reserve the right to cancel the Contest and conduct a random draw from all previously eligible entries received by the Contest End Date.
  • RULE AMENDMENTS: The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to amend or modify these Contest Rules, or modify, cancel or suspend this Contest, without prior notice for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation in the event that any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsors corrupts, or threatens to corrupt, the security or proper administration of the Contest.
  •  PUBLICITY AND ENTRANT INFORMATION: By entering the Contest each contestant:
  1. Grants to the Sponsors, their affiliates, and the supplier of prizes (collectively, Licensees”), in perpetuity, a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to publish, display, reproduce, modify, edit or otherwise use (as the Licensees may in their sole discretion deem appropriate and without right of approval by the contestant) his/her/their submitted Content, in whole or in part, for advertising or promoting the Contest or for any other reason in any manner and in any medium (including the Internet), globally, without any compensation or further attribution or notification, and waives his or her moral rights to such Content;
  2. Authorizes the Licensees to use, reproduce and/or publish in any related publicity, his/her/their name, photograph, image, likeness, biographical information, any statements they make regarding a prize, place of residence, and/or voice for advertising and promotional purposes in perpetuity and in any manner and in any medium (including the Internet), globally, without any compensation or further attribution or notification;
  3. Agrees that anything created by the Licensees which is derived from the contestant’s Content, voice, photograph, image, likeness or any statements the contestant make regarding a prize, is owned by the Sponsors, their affiliates or prize suppliers, as applicable; and
  4. On his/her/their own behalf, and on behalf of his/her/their heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, hereby release and discharge the Licensees from and against any and all claims (whether known or unknown, in law or in equity) that he/she/they or any of his/her/their heirs, executors, administrators, successors, or assigns may have or that may later accrue against any of the Releasees for any damage, loss, liability, costs, legal fees, expenses or injury based on publicity rights, defamation, libel, slander, portrayal in a false light, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trademark infringement or any other intellectual property related cause of action arising out of or relating directly or indirectly in any way to the entry, a vote (if applicable) or use of his/her/their Content (if applicable), name, photograph, image, likeness, biographical information, any statements they make regarding a prize, place of residence, and/or voice.
  5. For greater certainty, the Sponsors, their promotional agency and/or their designated content moderator (the “Reviewer”) reserves the right, in their sole and absolute discretion and at any time during the Contest, to modify, edit or remove any Content, or to request a contestant to modify or edit his or her Content, if a complaint is received with respect to the Content, or for any other reason. If such an action is necessary at any time, then the Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to reset the entry count associated with the Content to zero (or, to whatever number the Sponsors deem appropriate in their sole and absolute discretion).
  6. If a contestant has any questions or does not wish the Sponsors to use any or all of his/her/their name, photograph, image, likeness, biographical information, any statements made regarding the prize, place of residence, and/or voice for purposes other than Contest administration, please contact the Sponsors at info@unitetheswifties.ca.
  • MINORS: For greater certainty, where the selected contestant is under the age of majority in his/her/their province or territory of residence, as a pre-condition to the selected contestant being declared the winner and receiving the prize, the parent or legal guardian of the selected contestant must consent in writing to the selected contestant being declared a winner and receiving a prize and must also sign and return to the Contest Sponsors the Contest Sponsors’ form(s) of Declaration and Release documentation
  • PERSONAL INFORMATION: By entering this Contest, each contestant expressly consents to the Sponsors, their agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her/their entry for the purpose of administering the Contest and prize fulfillment and in accordance with Sponsors’ privacy policy and federal and provincial legislation unless the contestant otherwise specified by giving Sponsors notice in writing. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, these Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
  • INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: All intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, images, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Sponsors.  All rights are reserved.  Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or other intellectual property without the express written consent of the Sponsors is strictly prohibited.  The Sponsors’ marketing or other partners, if any, shall also have access to and rights to reproduce, copy or otherwise use any materials generated by this Contest or any submissions or materials generated by entrants.
  • LAW: The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and local laws. This Contest and any disputes arising from it shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the province of Ontario, including all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Contest Rules, rights and obligations between entrants and the Sponsors, and procedural provisions, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
  • RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION: The winners must sign the Sponsors’ Winner Release to: (i) confirm compliance with the Contest Rules; (ii) agree to accept the prize as awarded; (iii) release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsors, their departments and agencies, parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies, counsel, marketing partners, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Bluesky, and LinkedIn, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, shareholders, successors, sponsors, partners, licensees, subsidiaries, agents, artists, advisors, assignees, and all others associated with the administration, development and execution of the Contest (the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all manner of action, cause of action, claim or demand, loss or injury, use or misuse of a prize or any travel related thereto, and the use of the Entry by the Sponsors, suit, debt, covenant, contract, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach, failure of any third party contractor or supplier used in connection with any aspect of the Contest to perform or deliver any goods or services, any act of God or any other event beyond the Released Parties’ control, any dissatisfaction of any kind by a winner with any aspect of the Contest or any prize, liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants, guests, their heirs, successors or assigns have, might have or could have suffered, by reason of or arising out of the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the entrant of the Prize as awarded; and (iv) indemnify the Released Parties against any loss, damage or expense, including legal fees, that any of the Released Parties may suffer or incur as a result of any non-compliance by an entrant with any of the Contest Rules or participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by an entrant of a prize and the use of the Entry by Sponsors.

The Sponsors are not responsible for: (i) incorrect or inaccurate entry information which may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Contest or be awarded a prize, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed entries for any reason, electronic device failures, internet failures, mail failures, omission, or any combination thereof, and entries which fail to fully comply with these Contest Rules; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (iii) lost, incomplete, delayed, mutilated or misdirected entries or Declaration and Release forms; (iv) injury or damage to the entrant’s computer or to any other individual’s computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Contest or accepting a prize; (v) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, including any travel related thereto and the use of the Entry by Sponsors; (vi) the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computer “hackers” or otherwise; or (vii) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential winner.

  • LANGUAGE DISCREPANCY: In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
  • SOCIAL MEDIA: This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by any social media platforms on which the Contest may have been promoted and/or publicized, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Bluesky, and/or LinkedIn. Any personal information provided in connection with the Contest is being provided to the Sponsors and not to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Bluesky, and/or LinkedIn. Any questions or comments regarding the Contest must be directed to the Sponsors and not to any of the social media platforms on which the Contest may have been advertised or administered.
